Nene Valley Crematorium offers the perfect facilities to host a memorial service that appropriately commemorates the life of a loved one. There are plenty of options for you to choose from and encourage you to visit our crematorium to help you decide if it's right for you and how you’d want a service to go. We can show you what to expect.

 

Services at Nene Valley Crematorium are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. After-hours and Weekend services can be made available upon request. Typical service time is 40 minutes, programmed on the hour. Features available in our facilities include:


  • Ceremony Hall/Chapel (seating for 145 & standing room for 50)
  • Further seating outside the area with external screen and speakers available
  • Easels to display large and small photographs
  • Vestry facilities with lockers to be used by the ceremony leader
  • Media system with full capabilities for music, visual tributes and webcasting
  • Organ (organist to be arranged independently)
  • Religious symbols available for display for multi-denominational services
  • Disabled accessibility, including wheelchair ramps and hearing loops
  • Parking available to accommodate 89 cars plus space for two coaches. Nine disabled spaces are also available
  • Portable music system - with wireless connection

  • Cycle racks
  • Limited additional parking adjacent to the crematorium for drivers with limited mobility. We also provide for drop off outside the waiting room or the use of a wheelchair, both of which need to be arranged in advance
  • Waiting room, currently the temporary home of our Book of Remembrance, which can also be seen online at www.remembrance-books.com/nenevalley
  • Toilet facilities (outside of the Ceremony Hall/Chapel)
  • Viewing room for those wishing to be present at the “charging” of a coffin, meaning the placing of the coffin into the cremator. 
  • Vending Room for supply of hot and cold drinks.

Funeral Service Choice 


Full Service

40-minute service time, with a ceremony leader, or family member

(an extended service is available to make the service duration 80 minutes).



Memorial Service

40-minute service ~  without cremation.

(generally, without a coffin present, and sometimes with a coffin present prior to a burial).

No Service

Congregation in attendance

no ceremony leader.

(short pieces of music for entering and leaving allowed – generally crematorium choice).


Committal

 A follow-up short service after a service held elsewhere

Direct Cremation

No congregation in attendance or service held.

(The deceased is received directly for subsequent cremation).



Simple Service

Congregation in attendance

10 minutes with a ceremony leader




Other Services 

● Qualified staff to arrange and conduct small memorial services for the interring or scattering of ashes.



● Recycling of metals and pacemakers in accordance with the ICCM ‘s guidance policies.



● The building has been designed to reflect light and has an airy interior, with views over open countryside. It is intended to provide a peaceful atmosphere, uplifting the feelings of those who enter.



● The objective is to offer long-term comfort for presently bereaved people and for future family generations, and their friends.
