Nene Valley Crematorium: A tranquil setting that respects and accommodates the wishes and needs of all our community
‘Thanks to the team at Nene Valley Crematorium, a challenging day has been made very special and the view helped create a positive mood all round’ CJ
I would like to thank you all for the lovely remembrance service, that you put on on December 2 2017. RS
A note to thank you for organising the Remembrance service on 2nd December 2017. It was very well done and nice to take a moment to reflect and remember. Thanks again. SB.
Nene Valley Crematorium is the result of the Borough Council of Wellingborough’s vision to invest taxpayers’ money into a valuable service for the local community and beyond, which will eliminate the long road journeys to crematoria in other districts. It was also our wish to reduce the waiting times for cremation during busy periods, which adds to the burden of those who are grieving.
We visualised a new and beautiful building that will serve as a beacon of excellence for the people of Wellingborough and wider community.
The building has been designed to reflect light and an airy interior, with views over open countryside. It is intended to provide a peaceful atmosphere, uplifting the spirits of those who enter.
The focus of the service we offer is choice: choice of time, choice of music, choice of memorials; excellent care and dedication come as standard.
We recognise that funerals are deeply emotional and the importance of getting everything right, and right first time, is at the forefront of our minds.
We endeavour to create gardens of tranquillity, which will commemorate the lives of those who have been cremated. The objective is to offer long-term comfort for the presently bereaved and for generations of families into the future.
We are conscious of the great duty before us in enabling the final tributes to so many in future years. It is our policy to maintain traditional values of service and care in the operation of Nene Valley Crematorium. We are non-denominational and open to those of any or no religion.
Sustainability is important to us both in design and delivery. In line with current values we endeavour to maintain the highest environmental standards. This applies, where possible, to locally sourced products for the grounds to eliminate our carbon footprint, down to recycling green waste, which will enhance the gardens of remembrance, in creating a more pleasing place to visit for all.
We will follow The Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management’s (ICCM’s) Guiding Principles.
Through effective bereavement-led strategies and a customer focussed service we aim to ensure that Nene Valley Crematorium recruits, retains, rewards, and develops a committed and dedicated team to provide a caring bereavement service and to achieve company objectives. We will train our team to ICCM qualification level as the company is committed to recognising individual potential to support their professional development.
Disabled access and parking:
There is disabled parking facilities at the crematorium, and also limited additional parking closer to the crematorium entrance for drivers with restricted mobility.
Passengers with mobility difficulties can be dropped off outside the waiting room so long as this is in advance of the funeral cortège or request use of a wheelchair, which is available from the crematorium. This can be arranged in advance and be waiting for your arrival.
We have 94 spaces for cars and space for two coaches.
